I've also been playing with a new camera, a big honking Nikon D70. It's not actually mine - belongs to my father - but it's a nice camera anyhow and he lets me use it as it's a hell of a lot nicer than the 5000 is. I'm still using the 5000, but really only for chronicling shots like when we went up Grays Peak or I go to Habitat. The D70's heavy, though, and if there's a long lens on it's almost too big for me to hold. I have little wimpy hands.
I haven't been out with nearly as much as I should be, mainly through inertia and school. I keep seeing nifty things on my way home, though (school's only on the other side of the open space), so maybe one of these days I'll take the camera with me and watch people boggle when I bring this huge thing into class with me. Maybe I'll take it today; it's exam day, so I don't have to worry about textbooks.
I also have a backlog of shots that I've looked at but haven't processed. A lot of them aren't terribly great - mostly out of focus - but I took most of them with the D70 and am still getting used to it. I should do something about those, too.
